So my ult group is Verivery. This might come as a shock to some people, but as much as I love other groups like BTS, VRVR are my main boys. So when the news came that our baby was gonna be in a drama, you surely know that I was gonna watch it.
In a world where popularity turns into social class, and not receiving hearts makes you a loser, a high-teen drama depicts the anxious concerns around the students at the Han Arts High School. Centered around the students, the drama unfolds a bold and diverse story about their social status, desires an growth in society where they yearn for love.

We focus on 6 main characters.
- Moon YeJi (Wooyeon of WOO!AH!)
- Cha SooBin (Jeon GeonHu)
- Joo SeonJae (Kangmin of Verivery)
- Kim DaEun (Seo SooHee)
- Kang SaeNa (E.Ji of ICHILLIN’)
- Seon JooHyuk (Lee JinWoo of Ghost9)
YeJi is studying to be a singer, but is more known as a popularity fairy. If you are featured in one of her insta posts, you will definitely be asked to join an entertainment company. There are rumors that she accepts money from the companies, but that is unfounded.
SooBin is studying piano. He are YeJi have been friends since forever, but they are not romantically linked. They are just friends. He has an outside job where he plays jazz piano at a club.
SeonJae is studying………………. He is a recluse who stays at home and writes songs. He has a checked past, maybe, maybe not. Again, mostly rumors and they DO NOT discuss it.
DaEun is studying piano. She is a really quiet girl from a rich family. She likes SooBin.
SaeNa is studying dance. She is YeJi’s friend and is well liked amongst the school. However, there seems to be something going on between her and DaEun.
JooHyuk is already a trainee, but he’s friends with YeJi, Saena, and SooBin, so he hangs around them in school. He is pretty… and that’s about it. But as he is already a trainee, he’ll be set to debut any minute now. He has a crush on SaeNa, it’s adorable.
Storywise, it was okay. A bit adolescent for my tastes, but what should I expect from a school drama. I liked all the characters I was supposed to like. I was a little upset that it seemed like Kangmin didn’t have any lines. I know he did have lines and it was the character he was playing, but it really seemed like he was just told to brood. He is an excellent brooder though, so no complaints. I am going to have to look up Ghost9, but JooHyuk was possibly my favorite character. He was just so sweet and innocent and funny. And without exaggeration, Jeon GeonHu looks like Soobin from TXT, so him playing a character named SooBin really threw me off.
The show had a lot of little plot beats that would’ve been awesome if fleshed out, but I think they were constrained by show length. For example, JooHyuk is set to debut with a group, but during one of the practices, the other members haze the crap out of him. They get him super drunk and film as they torture him. He is saved quickly by SaeNa, but I would’ve loved for that to have been drawn out a bit further. Like, he has absolutely no idea why these guys are doing this to him. I would’ve liked to see if he would’ve tried to endure the treatment just to be an idol. Or the whole thing with SooBin being poor and having to work to pay for school all while being blackmailed because the place he works is considered “dirty.” They go into it a bit, but I really think this show could’ve been hour long episodes and darker.
But I guess as an idol led drama, they have limitations.
3/5 – could use some work, but Kangmin did a great job.
Laters!
